Good luck against DHS. I really enjoyed your podcast and think that this is a great use of the technology, I bet the kids love it.
I hope you win you next two games and then can run a team interview or another discussion about the games. GOOD LUCK!

    Say Robert,

    Nice job...

Sports announcing is unique and difficult. The podcast included the team’s future schedule and some play-by-play. You accepted quite a challenge and accomplished a respectable effort with a one announcer approach. There are usually two people in sports announcing: one announcer to give a play-by-play and a second for something called, “color” (This person provides background, statistics and talks about the crowd, etc.).

    The podcast:

Snappy introduction! John Fogarty’s “Centerfield” is a GREAT choice in song selection.

It’s always better to use a song that’s well known by the public and is relevant to the content of your podcast! The open is informative. The approach taken in introducing the team players as if you were announcing the player’s lineup is clever. The podcast details some of the exciting moments played during the Anza-Yucaipa game. Your conclusion of the podcast was useful by requesting support for the teams.

The podcast did hold my attention, but there are some minor points you might want to consider for improvement:

    • In the intro potting (increasing) the music up and down with pausing the announcer’s voice can instill some excitement from the rhythmic beat of the song
    • When using a song with lyrics, pot the song very low so it doesn’t compete with the announcer’s voice.
    • The music completely dropped out at 3 minutes, 47 seconds into the podcast. To remedy this when using a song as a music bed, make sure the song is at least the length of the recorded announcement or make a copy of the instrumental portion (usually found in the middle of the song) and edit it back into the middle. This increases your time.

I hope this helps you out with your next podcast!
